To check the hardness of your blending water for brandies / distillates.
The hardness should be below 4°dH to avoid turbidity caused by calcium and magnesium salts.
You can easily check your water with the Aquadur test strips.
Simply dip the strip into a sample for 1 second, wait 1 minute and read off the hardness!
Reading: up to 3°dH (blended water is sufficiently demineralised)
> 4°dH (signal for insufficiently soft water)
> 7°dH
> 14°dH
> 21°dH
